Happy Holidays... Kinda!

A little recap of our holidays in France last month. We did loads of things: went to the zoo, rode some bikes, played in the pool and went to the beach - although Louis didn't want his feet to touch the sand! (yeah... kinda challenging on a beach)!

For those of you who don't have kids and still have a romantic idea of what holidays should be, here's a teaser:
- Loulou got ill whilst we were in France so we went back to the Emergency clinic at the local hospital where we ended up back in May; they told us we had to find a local doctor instead and we ended up driving down a residential road to what was effectively someone's house reconverted into a doctors' office. It was 7pm on a Monday evening. Against all odds, we showed up and the guy said "take a seat". I could have kissed him except he was creepy looking so I didn’t.
- Then with prescription in hand, we rushed to the local pharmacy, and missed the closing time by 5mns so had to go back the next morning.
- Lou got some seriously strong antibiotics -- read 3 joyful days of pretty dramatic diarrhea. Which leaked everywhere. Including onto Grandma's brand new bedroom sisal carpet (which I now know is impossible to clean). I stopped counting how many times I had to carry Lou at arms lengths into the bath fully clothed to literally hose him down after the 5th time in less than 48 hours.
- We had to be creative and found innovative ways to hide the medicine into his food (seriously, pharmaceutical companies really don't have a clue here...). When that didn’t work, we had to bribe (no chocolate until you’ve eaten this). And when that didn't work, we had to pin him down and give it to him with a syringe!!
- Finally on the way back, Loulou's water and milk beakers exploded into mummy's bag due to the plane pressure. Yeah. The lovely bag that contained Mummy's new iPad. Which still works by the way. Except the screen is a little sticker than before :-)

So there you have it. Ten days of holidays summarized in a few sentences. Never been so happy to get back home!!
